As many of you know, or rather have seen, we have recently curated a rather interesting new hue to the trees along Memorial Drive at Waugh.
Special thanks to Australian artist Konstantin Dimopoulos, who has set out to bring awareness back to our trees. In a short interview he compares them to, "...the lungs of the world...". He travels all over the world performing these installations, Houston is the 8th city to receive one. Trees are all too often over looked or taken for granted. As a society we often times forget that we are still living creatures feeding off our environment. Without people like Dimopoulos instilling that awareness back into our community we would continue to separate ourselves from nature.
It just seemed fitting to take our most recent collection out and play around in the blue trees. As Dimopoulos states, "The fact that blue is a colour that is not naturally identified with trees suggests to the viewer that something unusual, something out of the ordinary has happened. It becomes a magical transformation.", and it did just that. The collection has never looked so good, paired next to these trees.
